CAS-BFH: Value-Based Healtcare

Learn how to systematically evaluate medical innovations and make evidence-based decisions on their value for patients and healthcare systems. This interdisciplinary programme combines Value-Based Healthcare and Health Technology Assessment (HTA) to support informed decision-making on healthcare technologies, reimbursement, and resource allocation.

Participants gain a comprehensive understanding of the principles and methods of Value-Based Healthcare and Health Technology Assessment. The programme covers health economic evaluation, cost-effectiveness analysis, evidence synthesis, market access, reimbursement processes, and international HTA frameworks. It also explores how healthcare technologies are assessed from clinical, economic, and policy perspectives, enabling participants to contribute to technology assessment, pricing, reimbursement, and strategic decision-making in healthcare. Learning is supported through case studies, expert input from academia, industry, insurers, and public authorities, and a final applied project.

Prof. Dr. Katharina Blankart, Head of Health Economics & Health Policy, katharina.blankart@bfh.ch
